Interest Rate Hikes

Anyone old enough to remember when an interest rate ‘hike’ was to an interest rate rise as a bushwalk was to a stroll to the corner store?

It seems that in the push to make all news sensational, even the smallest of increases is now routinely called a hike.

When every little thing is spun to the max we lose all subtlety, nuance and sense of proportion in a quagmire of misinformation and propaganda. We need a ‘war on PR’.
